PODGORICA (Montenegro), October 1 (SeeNews) – Montenegrin power grid operator Crnogorski Elektroprenosni Sistem (CGES) [MNG:PREN] led the blue-chip gainers on the Montenegrin stock exchange in September, as stock indices ended up, bourse data indicated.
The blue-chip index of the Montenegro Stock Exchange, MNSE10, closed September at 798.38 points, up 1.42% month-on-month, but down 4.3% year-on-year.
The benchmark MONEX index, which tracks the 20 most representative shares on the Montenegro Stock Exchange, rose by 0.98% month-on-month in September, reaching 10,455.09 points. The index went down 2.9% year-on-year.
CGES rose the most among the blue chips in September, adding 6.88% month-on-month to 0.6008 euro, as 32,728 of its shares changed hands in 16 transactions. The company generated a share turnover of 19,663.37 euro.
Hotel operator Ulcinjska rivijera [MNG:ULRI] paced the blue-chip decliners in September, shedding 3.45% month-on-month, to 5.3127 euro. The company generated a share turnover of 9,812.61 euro. A total of 1,847 shares in Ulcinjska rivijera changed hands in September in ten transactions.
Тhe bourse's total turnover rose in September to 52.1 million euro ($60.4 million) from 4.035 million euro a month earlier.
A total of 184 transactions were concluded on the bourse in Podgorica in September, versus 266 in August. Stock market capitalisation was 2.978 billion euro at the end of September, up from 2.974 billion euro a month earlier.
