May 21 (SeeNews) - CEZ Distribution Bulgaria [BUL:3CZ] said on Tuesday that it will invest 2.3 million levs ($1.3 million/1.1 million euro) in the electricity distribution network of the Pernik region, in western part of the country, in 2019.
The investment will finance the construction of power substations and new power lines as well as reconstruction of existing ones, the company, part of the assets of Czech energy group CEZ in Bulgaria, said in a statement.
CEZ Distribution Bulgaria invested some 7.6 million levs in the city's power grid, with the bulk of the funding used for the installation of 63,000 smart meters.
Earlier this year the company invested 5.2 million levs in the distribution network of the neighbouring Blagoevgrad region.
CEZ Distribution Bulgaria operates the distribution grid on an area of 40,000 sq km in western Bulgaria, including the Sofia region.
