June 20 (SeeNews) - CEZ Distribution Bulgaria [BUL:3CZ], a subsidiary of Czech power utility CEZ Group, said on Thursday that it plans to invest 2.2 million levs ($1.2 million/1.1 million euro) in enhancing the security of the power grid in the north-central region of Lovech.
The investment project envisages the construction of substations, the replacement of cable lines and the reconstruction of low-voltage networks in the region, CEZ Distribution Bulgaria said in a statement.
The investment will also finance works related to the preparation of the grid for installation of smart meters in 2020.
In 2018 the company invested about 2 million levs in Lovech region, mainly in reconstruction of low-voltage networks.
