April 6 (SeeNews) - Turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) jumped on Thursday on the back of deals in CEZ Distribution Bulgaria [BUL:3CZ], majority owned by Czech power utility group CEZ, bourse data shows.
CEZ Distribution Bulgaria rose 2.29% to 240.00 levs as 14,914 shares changed hands, generating 59% of the bourse turnover on Thursday.
BSE's total stock trading turnover rose to 5.94 million levs ($3.23 milion/3.03 million euro) on Thursday, from 829,500 levs on Wednesday.
The blue-chip SOFIX index added 0.34% to 643.93 points, after gaining 0.90% on Wednesday.
The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, appreciated 0.49% to 126.95 points. It rose by 0.74% on Wednesday.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, fell by 0.18% to 108.76 points, after closing 0.21% higher on Wednesday.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, rose 0.34% to 509.38 points, following a 0.63% increase on Wednesday.
Fertilisers maker Neochim [BUL:3NB] was the top blue-chip gainer on Thursday, rising by 3.03% to 68.000 levs in a trading volume of 55 shares.
Financial and insurance group Eurohold Bulgaria [BUL:4EH] led the blue-chip decliners, falling by 2.0% to 0.880 levs as 8,535 shares changed hands.
Drug maker Sopharma [BUL:3JR] was the most traded blue-chip company as 61,094 shares changed hands at an average price of 4.014 levs.
