January 28 (SeeNews) - Croatia's CD Cargo Adria, a subsidiary of Czech railway transport services provider CD Cargo, said it has launched container traffic between the Adriatic port of Rijeka and Serbian capital Belgrade.
“It concerns four pairs of trains per week for the Maersk operator,” the company said in a statement on Thursday.
CD Cargo Adria is offering the service commercially, using CD Cargo railcars. CD Cargo Adria made the first deliveries on the route at the end of October.
The company also said the process of obtaining the licence to operate rail transport in Croatia is proceeding according to schedule and the start of operation with its own locomotives is expected in May 2022 at the latest.
