July 26 (SeeNews) - French retailer Carrefour said that it generated gross sales of 1.05 billion euro ($1.17 billion) in Romania in the first half of 2019, up 5.8% year-on-year at current exchange rates and 7.8% higher at constant exchange rates.
In the second quarter alone, Carrefour booked gross sales of 549 million euro in Romania, representing an annual rise of 8.3% at current exchange rates and 10.5% at constant exchange rates, the company said in an interim financial statement on Thursday.
Carrefour operated 362 stores in Romania at the end of June, up from 328 a year earlier.
