December 13 (SeeNews) - The Bosnian unit of German-based car parts maker Prevent Group said it plans to raise the production capacity of its factories and increase its workforce by 300% in the Central Bosnia Canton.
Prevent has two plants in the Central Bosnia Canton. It employs 400 people at its plant in Travnik, and over 300 in Bugojno, news daily Oslobodjenje reported.
"We intend to train 150 people in Travnik in the next three to four months, of which 120 will certainly be needed as employees," Seid Fijuljanin, the director of the Prevent-backed Hastor Foundations, is quoted saying.
The Bosnian unit of Prevent Group is the largest private company in Bosnia and a leading automotive supplier in Europe. It employs 6500 people at 15 production sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to its website, the company produces textile and leather seat covers for more than two million new vehicles each year.
The Central Bosnia Canton is one of the ten cantons of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of Bosnia's two autonomous entities. Its other entity is the Serb Republic.
