SOFIA (Bulgaria), September 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian public transport company Burgasbus said that it has signed a 6.6 million levs ($4.0 million/3.4 million euro) contract for the purchase of 12 new electric buses with local company Bulgarian Automotive Industry.
Under the terms of the deal, which benefits from EU financing under operational programme Environment 2014-2020, Bulgarian Automotive Industry will be responsible for the delivery of nine-metre electric buses along with additional equipment for the needs of the public transport of the coastal city of Burgas, Burgasbus said in a notice earlier this week.
The deal was signed on August 27, the contracting authority said.
The tender for awarding the contract attracted offers from five candidates. Quality criteria had 60% weight in the overall ranking of the bids.
Sofia-based Bulgarian Automotive Industry is mainly active in the manufacturing and trade in vehicles. The company is an official representative of Chinese bus manufacturer Zhengzhou Yutong Bus CO.
