March 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian state-owned Bulgartransgaz announced on Friday a market study for future interest in natural gas transmission in the Bulgaria - Serbia direction, through the Kireevo/Zajecar cross-border point, for the period January 1, 2021 - October 1, 2021.
The deadline for submitting expressions of interest is April 15, the Bulgarian gas transmission system operator said in a statement.
In case of interest, Bulgartransgaz will inform the market participants about the amount of additional capacity and it will be offered for booking, the company said.
Bulgaria is currently building a string of Gazprom's TurkStream pipeline in the direction of Serbia.
The offshore section of the TurkStream pipeline stretching 930 km under the Black Sea from Russia to Turkey consists of two parallel strings with annual throughput capacity of 15.75 billion cubic metres of gas each. One string is intended for consumers in Turkey, while the second will carry gas to customers in Europe through Bulgaria.
