October 7 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian gas transmission system operator Bulgartransgaz said on Monday that it has signed a 2.4 million levs ($1.3 million/1.2 million euro) contract with a local tie-up for consultancy services related to the construction of an extension of the TurkStream pipeline on the country's territory.
The tie-up comprises local companies Geodet, Novel and IVT Consult, Bulgartransgaz said in a notice.
The contract was inked on September 3.
The public procurement procedure for awarding the contract attracted three offers.
According to registry agency data, Geodet holds 97% interest in the tie-up, while Novel and IVT Consult control 1% and 2% interest, respectively.
Last month, Bulgartransgaz signed a 1.1 billion euro contract with Saudi-led consortium Arkad for the construction of a 474-km section of the TurkStream pipeline.
The offshore section of the TurkStream pipeline stretching 930 km across the Black Sea from Russia to Turkey consists of two parallel strings with annual throughput capacity of 15.75 billion cubic metres of gas each. One string is intended for consumers in Turkey, while the second will carry gas to customers in Europe through Bulgaria.
