October 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production edged down by an annual 0.08% to 34,334 GWh in the January 1 - October 7 period, while power consumption fell 4.54% on the year to 28,700 GWh, according to data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Power exports rose by 31.12% year-on-year to 5,634 GWh in the period under review, ESO data shows.
Last year, Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system fell 7.54% on the year to 940 GWh in the January 1 – October 7 period, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system decreased by 12.12% year-on-year to 1,312 GWh.
