December 4 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production rose by an annual 1.74% to 42,084 GWh in the January 1 - December 2 period, according to data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Power consumption fell 3.79% on the year to 34,868 GWh in the period under review, ESO data shows.
Electricity exports increased 40.89% year-on-year to 7,216 GWh. Last year, Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system fell 6.57% on the year to 1,117 GWh in the January 1 – December 2 period, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system decreased by 9.60% year-on-year to 1,541 GWh.
