November 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production rose by an annual 1.15% to 39,860 GWh in the January 1 - November 18 period, according to data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Power consumption fell 4.30% on the year to 33,044 GWh in the period under review, ESO data shows.
Electricity exports increased 39.80% year-on-year to 6,815 GWh. Last year, Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system fell 6.68% on the year to 1,071 GWh in the January 1 – November 18 period, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system decreased by 10.01% year-on-year to 1,490 GWh.
