November 27 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production rose by an annual 1.44% to 40,950 GWh in the January 1 - November 25 period, according to data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Power consumption fell 4.08% on the year to 33,926 GWh in the period under review, ESO data shows.
Electricity exports increased 40.45% year-on-year to 7,024 GWh. Last year, Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system fell 6.43% on the year to 1,090 GWh in the January 1 – November 25 period, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system decreased by 9.95% year-on-year to 1,510 GWh.
