January 11 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production rose by 29% year-on-year to 1,376 GWh in the period from January 1 to January 9, data by the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) showed.
Domestic power consumption increased by an annual 2.02% in the period under review, reaching 1,016 GWh, according to data published in ESO's weekly newsletter.
Bulgaria's power trade surplus jumped by 394% on the year to 359 GWh in the review period.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system added 15% on the year to 33 GWh, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system went up 21% to 39 GWh.
The output of hydro power plants rose by 17% year-on-year to 124 GWh.
