October 19 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production rose by 14.75% year-on-year to 36,457 GWh in the January 1 - October 17 period, data by the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) showed.
Domestic power consumption increased by an annual 5% in the period under review, reaching 30,263 GWh, according to data published in ESO's weekly newsletter.
Bulgaria's power trade surplus jumped by 110.3% to 6,195 GWh in the review period.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system went down 5.6% on the year to 1,025 GWh, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system fell by 1.9% to 1,595 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants rose by 55.4% to 4,302 GWh.
