October 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production rose by 14.3% on the year to 35,560 GWh in the January 1 - October 10 period, data by the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) showed.
Domestic power consumption increased by an annual 4.5% in the period under review, reaching 29,508 GWh, according to data published in ESO's weekly bulletin.
Bulgaria's power trade surplus more than doubled to 6,052 GWh in the review period.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system dropped 5.6% on the year to 1,002 GWh, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system edged down 1.4% to 1,569 GWh.
Hydropower-produced electricity rose by 55.8% to 4,226 GWh.
