April 17 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production decreased by an annual 3.45% to 13,878 GWh in the January 1 - April 15 period, according to data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity consumption decreased 5.47% on the year to 12,529 GWh, data published on the ESO website shows.
Power exports rose by 20.51% year-on-year to 1,350 GWh in the period under review.
Last year, Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system fell 1.74% on the year to 370 GWh in the January 1 – April 15 period, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system decreased by 12.57% year-on-year to 452 GWh.
