July 17 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production decreased by an annual 2.41% to 23,860 GWh in the January 1 - July 15 period, according to data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity consumption fell 5.55% on the year to 20,726 GWh, data published on the ESO website shows.
Power exports rose by 25.07% year-on-year to 3,134 GWh in the period under review.
Last year, Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system fell 3.07% on the year to 669 GWh in the January 1 – July 15 period, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system decreased by 12.47% year-on-year to 893 GWh.
