May 27 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production fell by an annual 10.73% to 16,716 GWh in the January 1 - May 24 period of 2020, according to data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity exports dropped 22.51% to 2,865 GWh in the period under review, while imports soared 50.9% to 1,923 GWh, data from ESO's weekly bulletin showed.
Domestic power consumption fell 3.24% to 15,774 GWh.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system grew 20.79% year-on-year to 610 GWh, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system rose 14.13% to 852 GWh.
