September 5 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's electricity production dropped by an annual 22.08% to 27,486 GWh between January 1 and September 3, the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) said.
Domestic power consumption fell by 5.08% on the year to 24,728 GWh, ESO said in a weekly data release on Monday.

The country's power trade surplus plunged by 70.09% year-on-year to 2,758 GWh in the period under review.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission network surged by 52.81% to some 1,668 GWh. Solar power added an annual 136.8% to some 1,070 GWh, whereas wind power slipped by 2.94% to 517.6 GWh.
At the same time, the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system grew by 9.18% to 1,717 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants declined by 16.54% on the year to 2,442 GWh in the review period.
