May 9 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production dropped by an annual 19.90% to 15,827 GWh from January 1 to May 7, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Tuesday.
Domestic power consumption went down by 5.17% year-on-year to 14,222 GWh in the period under review, ESO said in its latest weekly newsletter.
Bulgaria's power trade surplus sank by 66.28% to 1,605 GWh in annual terms.
In comparison, the volume of renewable energy in the transmission network added 18.05%, reaching 683.6 GWh, whereas the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system fell by 2.10% to 796.4 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants declined by 31.79% on the year to 1,054 GWh.
