March 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production went down by 16% year-on-year to 10,821 GWh from January 1 to March 19, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday.
Domestic power consumption declined by 5.89% on the year to 9,405 GWh, ESO said in its latest weekly newsletter.
Bulgaria's power trade surplus plunged by an annual 51% to 1,415 GWh in the review period.
In comparison, the volume of renewable energy in the transmission network increased by 15%, reaching some 393 GWh. The volume of renewable energy in the distribution system edged up by 0.88% to 466.2 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants fell by 37% to nearly 609 GWh in annual terms, data showed.
