January 31 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production dropped by 14.67% year-on-year to 4,128 GWh in the period from January 1 to January 29, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said.
Domestic power consumption fell by 7.40% on the year in the period under review, to 3,498 GWh, ESO said in the latest issue of its weekly newsletter.
The country's power trade surplus plunged by an annual 40.58% to 629.5 GWh. In contrast, the volume of renewable energy in the transmission network rose by 1.65% to 135 GWh, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system dropped by 18.78% to 140.5 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants sank by 44.54% in annual terms to 223.8 GWh.
