March 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s power production and consumption declined in the January 1 - March 11 period, according to data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity production fell by an annual 4.83% to 9,610 GWh during the review period, while power consumption decreased 6.81% on the year to 8,897 GWh, data published on the ESO website shows.
Electricity exports increased by 29.40% year-on-year to 713 GWh in the period under review.
Last year, Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
Renewable energy in the transmission system declined by 3.77% on the year to 238 GWh in the January 1 – March 11 period, while renewable energy in the distribution system decreased by 12.01% to 280 GWh.
