December 5 (SeeNews) - Production of electricity in Bulgaria increased by 7.76% year-on-year to 46,639 GWh from January 1 to December 4, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday.
At the same time, year-to-date domestic power consumption slipped by an annual 1.52% to 34,970 GWh, ESO said in its weekly newsletter.
According to the data, Bulgaria's power trade surplus jumped by 50.14% to 11,669 GWh in the period under review.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission network climbed by 25.99% to 1,475 GWh, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution grid went up by 14.90% to 2,071 GWh.
The output of hydro power plants dropped by 23.73% to 3,578 GWh.
