September 26 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s power output rose by an annual 2.93% to 32,944 GWh in the period January 1 – September 24, according to data of the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Power exports fell 12.97% year-on-year to 4,168 GWh in the period under review, data published on the ESO website shows.
Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amid harsh winter weather conditions.
Electricity consumption increased by 5.72% on the year to 28,776 GWh during the review period.
Renewable energy in the transmission system rose by 11.03% on the year to 957,367 MWh in the January 1 – September 24 period, while renewable energy in the distribution system added 4.24% to 1,429,444 MWh.
