SOFIA (Bulgaria), July 11 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s power output rose by 4.19% year-on-year to 23,714 GWh in the period January 1 – July 9, data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) showed on Tuesday.
Electricity consumption increased by 6.92% on the year to 21,343 GWh during the review period, according to figures published on the ESO website.
Power exports fell 15.29% year-on-year to 2,371 GWh in the period under review. Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
Renewable energy in the transmission system increased by 7.79% on the year to 671,503 MWh in the period January 1 – July 9, while renewable energy in the distribution system rose by 2.94% to 986,905 MWh.
