SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 31 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s power output rose by an annual 1.65% to 36,788 GWh in the January 1 – October 29 period, according to data of the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity consumption increased by 4.92% on the year to 32,274 GWh during the review period, data published on the ESO website shows.
Power exports fell 16.87% year-on-year to 4,514 GWh in the period under review. Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amid harsh winter weather conditions.
Renewable energy in the transmission system increased by 13.87% on the year to 1,094 GWh in the January 1 – October 29 period, while renewable energy in the distribution system increased by 3.94% to 1,583 GWh.
