SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 13 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s power output rose by an annual 1.45% to 42,460 GWh in the January 1 – December 10 period, according to data of the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity consumption increased by 3.92% on the year to 37,221 GWh during the review period, data published on the ESO website shows.
Power exports fell 13.23% year-on-year to 5,238 GWh in the period under review. Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amid harsh winter weather conditions.
Renewable energy in the transmission system increased by 11.37% on the year to 1,231 GWh in the January 1 – December 10 period, while renewable energy in the distribution system grew by 1.58% to 1,744 GWh.
