SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 10 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s power output rose by an annual 2.17% to 35,229 GWh in the period January 1 – October 15, according to data of the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity consumption increased by 5.42% on the year to 30,858 GWh during the review period, data published on the ESO website shows.
Power exports fell 16.07% year-on-year to 4,372 GWh in the period under review. Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
Renewable energy in the transmission system increased by 13.31% on the year to 1,046 GWh in the January 1 – October 15 period, while renewable energy in the distribution system increased by 3.69% to 1,527 GWh.
