October 30 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production edged up by an annual 0.63% to 36,910 GWh in the January 1 - October 28 period, as power exports increased 36.12% to 6,129 GWh, according to data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Power consumption fell 4.33% on the year to 30,782 GWh in the period under review, ESO data shows.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system fell 5.91% on the year to 1,023 GWh in the January 1 – October 28 period, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system decreased by 10.17% year-on-year to 1,419 GWh.
Last year, Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
