January 16 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian wine and spirits producer VP Brands International said on Monday that it will invest an undisclosed amount in a rooftop solar installation for its own use, with a peak capacity of up to 360 kW.
VP Brands International, which operates under the Vinprom Peshtera brand, has lodged an investment proposal with Plovdiv municipality, which will see the solar array installed on the rooftops of three wine cellars in the nearby town of Saedinenie, the company said in a statement.

The solar system will consist of 720 photovoltaic panels with six inverters and will cover an area of 300 sq m.
VP Brands, tracing its origins to 1939, has eight production plants and a daily output capacity of 120,000 litres, according to its website. The company exports its production to 80 markets worldwide, including Japan, the US, Spain, Canada, the UK and Greece.
In August, VP Brands submitted two investment proposals for the construction of rooftop solar installations for its own use. The first, of up to 530 kWp, to be mounted on its warehouse centre in the town of Peshtera, and the second, with a capacity of up to 171 kWp, to be assembled on company-owned commercial buildings in the city of Plovdiv.
