June 9 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Veliko Tarnovo municipality opened a 3.7 million levs ($2.3 million/1.9 million euro) tender for rehabilitation works on its water supply and sewerage network, it said.
The assignment envisages the replacement of old steel, asbestos cement, and concrete water supply and sewerage pipes with new pipes made of polyethylene and polypropylene, the municipality said in a tender notice on Tuesday.
The project also includes the reconstruction of collector sewers and water supply pipes on several streets in the city of Veliko Tarnovo.
The project is expected to reduce water losses and the frequency of hydraulic overload of the sewerage network, improve the quality of the sewerage service, and cut operating costs, the contracting authority said.
The deadline for submitting offers in the tender is July 6. The bids will be ranked based on price.
