May 17 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's registered unemployment rate edged down by 0.2 percentage points (pp) month-on-month to 4.6% in April, the Employment Agency said, adding that this is the lowest recorded rate in its 32-year history.
On an annual comparison basis, the jobless rate declined by 1.5 pp, the government agency said in a statement on Monday.
A total of 15,144 unemployed people found a job with the help of labour offices last month, while 18,647 people registered as unemployed, a fall of 3,277 compared to April 2021.
At the end of April, the registered unemployed were 150,547, which was 5,316 fewer people compared to March and represented a year-on-year decline of 24.9%.
Of those who started work last month, 82.8% found a job in the real economy, with the largest proportion - 21.3% - becoming employed in the production industry, and the smallest - 5.1% - in construction.
There were 14,707 job vacancies registered with labour offices in April, 2,612 fewer on a monthly comparison basis and 3,423 fewer than in the same month of 2021.
