November 15 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's unemployment rate stood at 4.6% in the third quarter of 2021, down from 4.8% in the third quarter of last year, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Monday.
Unemployment among people in the 15-29 years bracket reached 10.3% in the third quarter of this year, compared to 8.3% in the same period of 2020, NSI said in a quarterly labour force survey.
The long-term unemployment rate, i.e. the share of people without a job for more than a year, was 2.4%, or 77,600 people.
The employment rate among people aged 15 to 64 inched down to 69.5% in the third quarter of this year from 69.6% recorded a year earlier. The share of economically active people aged 15-64 fell slightly to 72.9% from 73.2% in the third quarter of 2020.
Economically inactive people aged 15-64 exceeded 1.18 million in the third quarter of 2021, representing 27.1% of the population in this age group.
