November 18 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's state-owned National Electricity Company (NEK) said on Friday that it has completed repairs at its 85-MW hydro power plant (HPP) Tzankov Kamuk in the southwestern part of the country.
Following operational testing, the plant is now ready to resume operations, NEK said in a press statement.
The plant halted work in mid-October over a technical issue.
The HPP is part of the Tzankov Kamuk hydroelectricity generation complex on the Vacha river, in the Bulgarian region of Smolyan. The complex also includes an arch dam and a small auxiliary 1.5 MW HPP.
NEK owns 31 hydro power plants with a total installed capacity of 2,737 MW in turbine mode and 931 MW in pump mode.
