August 2 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian manufacturing equipment retailer TUVI&Co is seeking again the suspension of a 66 million levs ($39.2 million/33.7 million euro) tender for an overhaul of Sofia subway trains, the country's competition authority said on Thursday.
In its complaint TUVI&Co objects to a decision of Metropoliten, the operator of Sofia underground railway network, to extend the deadline for submitting offers to August 2, the Commission for Protection of Competition said in a notice.
Metropoliten had to extend the deadline after the tendering process was suspended over the previous complaint filed by TUVI&Co in June, in which the complainant objected to some technical specifications related to the repair of the trains' communication systems, emergency exits and first aid kits. The competition authority has dismissed the first complaint.
The tender, which was launched in April , envisages the overhaul of up to 12 subway trains.
TUVI&Co has a registered capital of 100 levs and is fully owned by private investor Boris Karakushev, according to data from the commercial register.
