May 25 (SeeNews) - The turnover indices in Bulgaria's services sector rose year-on-year in the first quarter of 2023 across all economic activities monitored, the statistical office said on Thursday.
Turnover from information and communication services marked the highest yearly growth in the January-March period, at 19.4%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement, citing preliminary data.
The increase was mainly driven by a 23% leap in computer programming, consultancy and related activities, along with a 15.3% climb in telecommunications services.
Turnover from transportation, storage and postal services added 13.8% on the year in the first quarter. Growth was supported by an 80.8% surge in air transport services and a 59.6% jump in water transport services.
Within the other business services segment, travel agency, tour operator and other reservation activities recorded the largest annual rise, at 103.2%. It was followed by cleaning activities, which posted a revenue increase of 51.8%.
