December 27 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian thermal power plant (TPP) Maritsa East 2 said that it has singed a 46 million levs ($26.8 million/23.5 million euro) contract with local Peshtostroy for carrying out various repair works.
The contract envisages planned and emergency repair of the plant's boiler units, turbochargers, scrubbers and gypsum dewatering installations, TPP Maritsa East 2 said in a notice last week.
The deal was signed on December 14, according to the notice.
Peshtostroy submitted the only offer in the public procurement procedure for awarding the contract.
Earlier this year, Bulgaria's energy ministry set up working group tasked with analysing the financial situation of TPP Maritsa Iztok 2 and coming up with measures for its stabilisation.
Maritsa Iztok 2 has eight operating units with a total installed capacity of 1,620 MW.
