May 2 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian state-owned thermal power plant (TPP) Maritsa Iztok 2 shut down its 230 MW Unit 7 on Wednesday for planned maintenance, the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) said.
The unit is expected to be reconnected to the grid at 15:00 local time on Thursday, IBEX said in a notice.
The plant is currently carrying out repairs on its Unit 8, with works scheduled to be completed on August 31.
TPP Maritsa Iztok 2 has eight operating units with a total installed capacity of 1,620 MW.
