September 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's thermal power plant (TPP) Maritsa Iztok 2 said on Friday that it has relaunched a tender for awarding a three-year natural disaster insurance contract, increasing the estimated value of the contract to 24.7 million levs ($14.0 million/12.6 million euro), VAT excluded.
The initial procedure, launched in June, valued the contract at 14.2 million levs, VAT excluded.
Candidates must prove that they have generated at least 49.4 million levs of gross written premiums from similar contracts in the past three full financial years, state-owned TPP Maritsa Iztok 2 said in a tender notice.
The deadline for expressions of interest is October 15. Selected candidates are expected to be invited to submit offers on November 22.
After cancelling the initial procedure in August, TPP Maritsa Iztok 2 signed a nine-month 6 million levs contract with Bulstrad VIG for natural disaster insurance to cover the period until it completes the public procurement procedure for the bigger contract.
TPP Maritsa Iztok 2 has eight operating units with a total installed capacity of 1,620 MW.
