March 31 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s National Electricity Company (NEK) was the sole bidder in a 5.18 million levs ($2.88 million/2.65 million euro) tender called by local thermal power plant (TPP) Maritsa East 2for the supply of technical water to the plant, official data showed.
The NEK's offer was opened on March 30, according to data published in the public procurement register on Thursday. The proposed price was not disclosed.
The tender relates to the conduct, storage and removal of water in order to ensure the technical water supply to coal-fired Maritsa East 2 via the hydrotechnical facilities of dam area Ovcharitsa, in southeastern Bulgaria, for a period of two years.
State-owned TPP Maritsa East 2 has eight operating units with a total installed capacity of 1,620 MW. The power plant reported a net profit of 762.06 million levs for the first nine months of 2022 after a loss of 182.2 million levs in the same period of 2021, according to its latest financial report.
