March 5 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's thermal power plant (TPP) Maritsa 3 said that its consolidated net profit rose to 6.4 million levs ($3.8 million/3.3 million euro) in 2018 from 5.6 million levs the year before.
The plant's total revenue amounted to 17.5 million levs last year, up from 16.3 million levs in 2017, TPP Maritsa 3 said in an unaudited financial report last week.
The plant's revenue from electricity sales declined to 9.6 million levs in 2018 from 12.1 million levs the year before. Other sales revenue doubled to 5.2 million levs in 2018 from 2.6 million levs a year earlier.
Financial revenue rose to 2.7 million levs in 2018 from 1.7 million levs in 2017.
The TPP's expenses rose to 11.1 million levs last year from 10.1 million levs the year before, largely due to an increase in expenses for hired services.
TPP Maritsa 3 is located in the town of Dimitrovgrad, in southern Bulgaria. Its largest shareholder is local Topgroup with a 49% stake, followed by Draft with 46% interest.
