August 26 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian supermarket chain T-Market, a unit of Lithuania's Maxima Grupe, said that it opened a new warehouse for refrigerated products in the capital Sofia.
The warehouse covers an area of over 5,000 sq m and has 20 loading and unloading ramps, T-Market said in a statement earlier this month.
The refrigerated storage facility has an area for deep-frozen and refrigerated goods, as well as up to three temperature zones for fruit and vegetables.
The warehouse will create a hundred jobs.
"The new modern warehouse will help optimise processes and costs, as well as give us more flexibility," Peter Pavlov, CEO of Maxima Bulgariaq said in the statement.
Earlier this year, Maxima Grupe said that it turned to a net profit of 1.4 million euro ($1.7 million) from operations in Bulgaria in 2020 from a net loss of 4.7 million euro in 2019. Its revenue grew to 182.8 million euro in 2020 from 149.5 million euro in 2019.
Maxima Bulgaria is a part of Maxima Grupe – a Lithuanian company managing over 1,000 supermarkets in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria and Poland. Maxima has over 16 years of experience in the Bulgarian market with T MARKET and owns over 93 supermarkets in 48 locations across the country.
