July 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian cellulose producer Svilosa's [BUL:3MZ] planned combined heat and power (CHP) plant will have an annual output of 1 million MWh of heat power and 110,000 MWh of electricity, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.
With such a capacity, the plant will save 400,000 tonnes of CO2, the chamber said in a statement earlier this week.
Last week, Svilosa signed a contract with a consortium led by Chinese company Jinan Boiler Group for the construction of the CHP plant.
The CHP plant will utilise 120,000 t of biomass per year, leftover bark from cellulose production, residue from treatment plants, agricultural waste and others.
Svilosa produces bleached kraft pulp and related items.
Jinan Boiler Group's main activity is manufacturing and distribution of pressure power boilers.
