October 16 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian water utility ViK - Stara Zagora will invest over 122 million levs ($68.8 million/62.4 million euro) in the construction and reconstruction of water supply and sewage infrastructure, the environment ministry said.
The project envisages construction of 100 kilometres of water supply pipes and upgrade of the city's waste water treatment plant, the environment ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Water losses from the supply network are expected to decrease by 14% as a result of the project.
Over 226,000 people in Stara Zagora, Kazanlak, Radnevo and Chirpan will benefit from the investment.
The project will be partially financed with EU funds under Operational Programme Environment 2014-2020.
The deadline for completing works is 49 months.
