January 16 (SeeNews) - AES Bulgaria said on Monday that its majority-owned St. Nikola wind farm increased its annual output by 8% last year to an all-time high amount of 356,056 MWh.
The wind park near Kavarna, on Bulgaria's northeastern Black Sea coast, produced enough power to meet the needs of 100,000 households, AES Bulgaria, a unit of U.S.-based energy conglomerate AES Corporation, said in an e-mailed statement.

Last month alone, St. Nikola produced some 35,000 MWh of electricity.
The onshore facility, equipped with 52 turbines of 3 MW each, was commissioned in 2010 after the company invested 540 million levs ($299 million/276.1 million euro) in its construction.
