August 4 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian parcel delivery company Speedy [BUL:SPDY] said that its non-consolidated net profit increased to some 12.3 million levs ($6.4 million/6.3 million euro) in the first half of 2022 from 9.964 million levs in the same period of last year.
Speedy's total revenue grew by an annual 18.5% to 118.7 million levs in the six months through June, the company said in an interim financial statement on Monday.
Sales revenue in Bulgaria rose 21.9% to some 95.1 million levs, while sales revenue in foreign markets ticked up by 5.7% to 20.7 million levs.
The growth in revenue from courier services was due to a 3.8% hike in service tariffs since April 1 as well as to the renewal of regional delivery services through Speedy Balkan. International deliveries as a whole, however, decreased due to lower consumer confidence in the context of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
The number of completed deliveries inched down by an annual 1.5% to 20.7 million in the January-June period.
Shares in Speedy closed flat at 108 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
