November 29 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Sopharma Trading [BUL:SFT], a unit of local pharmaceuticals manufacturer Sopharma [BUL:SFA], said on Monday that its consolidated net profit grew to 10.5 million levs ($6.1 million/5.4 million euro) in the first nine months of 2021 from 6.9 million levs in the comparable period of last year.
Sopharma Trading's revenue rose to 997 million levs in the nine months through September from 820 million levs a year earlier, the company said in an interim financial statement.
Sopharma Trading increased its sales revenue by 21.8% on the year in the review period, to some 989.2 million levs, the financial statement showed. Sales on the pharmacy market formed 65.67% of the company's total sales revenue for the period.
The drug trader's expenses rose to 984.9 million levs in the period under review from 811.6 million levs in the first nine months of last year.
The company also said it held a share of 21.87% of the local drug distribution market in the third quarter of 2021.
At the end of September, Sopharma Trading employed 828 people, up from 761 at the end of 2020, according to the company's non-consolidated financial statement for the third quarter of 2021 published on November 1.
On Wednesday, shares in Sopharma Trading closed flat at 4.88 levs on the Sofia bourse.
